Ride Saving, Butt Comforting Motorcycle Pants

by: Maricon Williams

Here comes the rain... On the next block the beaming sun is blazing harshly. What will save the rider’s day?

The sun, the rain, wind and sand can sometimes be obstacles to an exciting motorcycle escapade. Good thing we have motorcycle pants to comfort us!

Motorcycle pants come in many variations. Regular motorcycle pants are like normal pants only that they give extra protection especially on the butt. Overpants allow the rider to wear his work clothes underneath. They also give the rider flexibility to adapt to the weather. The most popular among the riders is that made of leather. It is not only durable but trendy as well. In rainy days, riders can also lean on rain pants. These pants are made thin plastic to keep water off of you. Finally, motorcycle pants also have this ‘jean look’ pants. They have this ordinary jeans look and feel only that they meet the standards and protection when riding. You wear it without others noticing that they are actually motorcycle pants.

When choosing motorcycle pants you need to consider a lot of things. First is the degree of comfort it offers. It should be most comfortable in the sitting positing because you will be sitting your whole ride through.

Second, if you are into riding even when the rain is irately pouring, you must consider purchasing waterproof motorcycle pants. Several pockets and zippers on the pants are also good. Things can be handy to you when they are placed in the pockets.

Good ventilation is also accessible when you open those zippers. There are also pants that have some ways of tightening at the waist area. Some uses belt, buttons or Velcro. The opportunity to tighten the pants gives the rider a better fit.

Padding is also vital to the knees. In times of bumps, falls and collisions, knees can be susceptible to fractures, thus protecting it is a must. Otherwise, you might end up injured or crippled. Padding can be made of Kevlar shells or other protective materials. Your legs are vulnerable thus, protect it.

Use cuffs that can be sealed to avoid water from coming in. It also stops our pants from flapping. Linings, on the other hand, must be strong and comfortable as well - strong to withstand the sturdy boots and comfortable to the riders senses.

Enjoying the ride is not impossible. Drench, dirty and uncomfortable motorcycle apparel is no longer a bother if you master the art of choosing!

Car Repair Prices: There Are No Honest Mechanics!

by: Theodore Olson

I enjoy reading the tips and suggestions on finding an honest or good mechanic. These can be found on various government and consumer websites, and in a variety of auto repair articles. I think the same guy wrote all the suggestions, and for all 50 states!

You’ll be advised to check around by word of mouth (WOM), and make sure that you see ASE or AAA posted somewhere. Check out the facility—make sure it’s clean. Check with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). You’ll be acronymed and common-sense-suggested to death. Unfortunately, none of it will really help either for quality or price.

I know AAA certified shops that can barely change oil. I have worked with ASE certified technicians that frightened me with their diagnostic theories. I know shops that are considered great that have serious BBB scars.

And WOM is the worst method. I have heard clients rave about how wonderful a particular shop is when "I KNOW it’s run by a thief!"

The sad fact is that very few people know what goes on with car repair, and even less comprehend repair pricing—even shop managers and purported experts in the field know very little.

Tips and suggestions only scratch at the surface of the automotive underworld. Sure, some tips might help. But what’s really needed is experienced insider information.

The consumer needs to know what really goes on with repair "pricing" in order to make sense of auto repair costs. With the right guidance and information, the playing field can be leveled, and the automotive customer can easily take charge of car repair prices.

Traditional tips and suggestions are only a band-aid on an open, gaping wound. Relying on these is like trusting a blind man to lead you across a major interstate. You might make it, but wouldn't you rather follow a traffic cop.
